The Wissensregion Düsseldorf is a platform that supports innovative projects for a broad target group, including students, researchers and international talents. We want to promote the exchange of different perspectives through regular events and workshops to create a strong network for innovation and growth. We see diversity as a valuable asset that enhances the innovative power of the region. We cordially invite you to become part of this community and to shape a future-oriented knowledge landscape together.
Organised by Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf in collaboration with six other research-intensive institutions – including Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, Düsseldorf University Hospital, Forschungszentrum Jülich, the German Diabetes Centre, the Max Planck Institute for Iron Research and WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management – the Night of Science serves to make the region’s diverse scientific expertise visible.
The Night of Science is a fascinating event that brings science and research closer to the general public in an innovative and interactive way. This event has a special significance in the Düsseldorf knowledge region, as it enables people of all ages to experience science up close and outside of traditional academic spaces.
The Wissensregion Düsseldorf, the Düsseldorf Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Düsseldorf Innovation and Technology Centre (DITEC) regularly invite companies and universities to Come Cooperate. At these events, participants have the opportunity to get to know potential cooperation partners and discuss joint projects, Bachelor’s and Master’s theses and funding. The format is becoming increasingly popular, as evidenced by the high number of organised discussions and the positive feedback from participants.
Come Cooperate makes it possible to promote targeted partnerships between companies and universities. Experts from various specialist areas, such as automation, sensor technology, bionics, bioplastics, artificial intelligence and retail marketing, will be available for discussions. The events offer space for exchange about possible stays abroad, joint research projects and further collaborations. The positive feedback shows that this format is a successful way of bringing together business and academic expertise and initiating innovative projects.
The innovation course, held for the first time in 2023 in cooperation with the FOM University of Applied Sciences and its Center for Innovation, Business Development Entrepreneurship (CIBE), emerged from the idea of the Innovation Semester. Under the motto “We can learn best from people who think differently”, the course pursues the core idea of interdisciplinarity and is aimed at anyone who wants to develop innovative ideas and entrepreneurial skills.
Participants work on prototypes and business models in a practical environment, fostering their creativity and self-efficacy. The innovation course therefore offers an ideal platform for all those who want to turn their visions into tangible projects and strengthen the culture of innovation in the region. Find out more about the 2024/25 course here.
