On November 3, 2021, the third edition of Come & Cooperate, the cooperation format of IHK Düsseldorf, the“DUS+ME innovativ” initiative and Wissensregion Düsseldorf e.V., took place.
Under the motto “Developing new things even better together!”, initial approaches for joint Bachelor’s or Master’s theses, funding applications or cooperations were explored in pre-matched discussions.
Bringing universities and companies together – that’s Come & Cooperate
After the 2020 transfer format had to be paused due to the coronavirus, it finally entered its third round: once again with the declared aim of bringing companies and universities together around a (virtual) table.
The representatives of the various institutions were able to discuss the topics of cooperation, funding and research in a concrete and results-oriented manner. Suitable partnerships were identified in advance and meetings scheduled so that the participants could get started straight away. With success, as Dr. Stefan Schroeter, Technology and Innovation Officer at IHK Düsseldorf, reports: “The concept, which we have already successfully implemented twice in person, also works virtually. The feedback from participants was very positive and shows us that the format is a good way for companies to cooperate with universities in a success-oriented way.” Over 20 experts from Heinrich Heine University, Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, the Velbert/Heiligenhaus campus of Bochum University of Applied Sciences, the University of Applied Sciences in Mettmann, FOM – University of Applied Sciences for Economics and Management and Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences were available for discussions. The
of the participating university institutes ranged from automation and sensor technology, bionics and bioplastics, artificial intelligence and computer science to trade marketing and corporate strategies.
Specific discussions were held, for example, about possible stays abroad to give students a topic-specific insight into the work of globally operating companies.
Another discussion gave rise to the idea of recruiting business-minded students to explore and deepen a joint research project.
Come & Cooperate was thus once again able to serve as a breeding ground for new collaborations – we are excited to see what will grow from this over the coming months! Featured photo: Melanie Zanin
