Realignment: Cancellation of the innovation semester and implementation of an innovation course Unfortunately, we had to cancel the innovation semester this year.
The distribution of applicants across the eight courses we offered was very uneven.
A few courses were over-subscribed, while others only received one application.
This was and is contrary to the aims of the overall project, which is to promote interdisciplinary and inter-institutional cooperation and thus support the personal growth of the participants.
We very much regret this decision and hope for the understanding of all those who had already invested a lot of work and time!
Despite the cancellation of the Innovation Semester, we continue to believe in the programmatic idea, which we are convinced will provide the basic skills for the working worlds of today and tomorrow.
That is why we are currently working on the crucial adjustments to take the implementation of the programmatic core idea further in 2024. What happens next? A course that was offered by the FOM as part of the innovation semester will be held despite the cancellation and will be supported by the Wissensregion Düsseldorf office.
This newly founded “innovation course” focuses on motivation and self-efficacy in order to generate ideas and strengthen entrepreneurial skills.
Participants are immersed in the basics of sustainable business and entrepreneurship.
The plan is to develop entrepreneurial ideas and identify business visions.
In addition, prototypes will be created to bring the developed ideas to life. The course will be led by Prof. Michael Friebe, founding director of the FOM CIBE (Center for Innovation, Business Development & Entrepreneurship), and Inga Hennrich.
The FOM CIBE embodies an understanding of innovation that combines sustainability, collaboration and technological progress.
