On September 9, after a three-year break due to coronavirus, the Night of Science finally took place again in the university building and on Schadowplatz.
Numerous scientists from various Düsseldorf institutions, organizations and facilities presented their expertise and opportunities to interested people of all ages.

Because science is exciting!
Visitors were able to see this for themselves at numerous information stands, in talks and panel discussions on a wide range of research fields.
More than 55 contributions invited visitors to join in, think and discuss.

There was something for everyone among the diverse contributions.
The event allowed participants to experience science at first hand without having to sit in a lecture hall or stand in a laboratory.

The public’s favorite from the innovation semester

We, the Association for the Promotion of Wissensregion Düsseldorf, were also involved with our own stand in the university building, at the “small experiment kit” of the Max Planck Institute for Iron Research – the public winner of our last innovation semester.
This invited children and young people to research and experiment.

The little materials tester used experiments to show children and young people the effects of selected household and foodstuffs on the body and the environment.
Equipped with protective goggles and smocks, the children were able to enjoy the experiments.
“Join in” was the key word here!

Creative projects like this one are also being developed during this year’s innovation semester.
Young people from different institutions, specialist areas and industries are joining forces in a project and benefiting from the exchange of knowledge.
The focus is particularly on the real-life relevance of the topics on offer.

Registrations for the 2022/23 innovation semester are still possible until September 30!

The lounge of the knowledge region

Throughout the evening, we were able to welcome our members at a private reception.
Interesting and promising conversations were held.
It was also great to catch up with each other.
It is also possible that one or two new contacts were made.
We would like to thank everyone who paid us a visit!

We are already looking forward to the next Düsseldorf Science Night!
