the team of the association's office
The association’s managing director is Dr. Kai de Weldige.
Since March 2021, he has been the operational contact for members and interested parties and is responsible for the content of the project work.
Project managers Keiko Ito and Hannah Pohlen are largely responsible for the association’s public relations work.
They are in close contact with the members, provide impetus for the network work and develop new projects together with Dr. de Weldige as a team of three.

The current board of the Verein zur Förderung der Wissensregion Düsseldorf e.V. consists of a group of high-ranking representatives from various institutions and companies.
The board is chaired by Prof. Dr. Edeltraud Vomberg, President of Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences.
She is assisted by Deputy Chairwoman Prof. Dr. Anja Steinbeck, Rector of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.
Gregor Berghausen, Managing Director of the Düsseldorf Chamber of Industry and Commerce, serves as Treasurer.
Other board members are Christian Zaum, Alderman of the City of Düsseldorf in the Department of Economics, Law, Fire Service and Health; Heiko Held, responsible for Corporate Citizenship and Social Partnerships at Henkel AG & Co. KGaA; Dr. Axel Fuhrmann, Managing Director of the Düsseldorf Chamber of Skilled Crafts; Prof. Dr. Gerhard Dehm, Director of the Max Planck Institute for Iron Research, and Karsten Hundhausen, Managing Director of FOM Düsseldorf.
This diverse composition of the board reflects the interdisciplinary orientation of the association, which has set itself the goal of further strengthening and promoting the Wissensregion Düsseldorf through cooperation and joint projects.
