24h-SMS-Voting of the Stifterverband decided on the most innovative university project nationwide The five universities, which are connected in the association for the promotion of the Wissensregion Düsseldorf e.V., took second place in the vote for the University Pearl of the Year 2018 with just under a quarter of the votes. “With their commitment to the Wissensregion Düsseldorf, the five universities are positioning themselves as important allies when it comes to promoting innovative ideas,” said the Stifterverband jury on the decision to award the University Pearl of the Month for December to Düsseldorf.
“A great, cross-institutional project with exemplary character – imitation desired!”
In a Germany-wide voting, which started on January 23 at 12 noon and was activated for 24 hours, the university pearl of the year was chosen by vote.
Wissensregion Düsseldorf collected around 1,550 votes.
Many of the voters were participants in the Innovation Semester, the Wissensregion Düsseldorf’s flagship project.
In the Innovation Semester, students and trainees work together to design team projects on social and entrepreneurial challenges in Düsseldorf and acquire important key skills through this new form of teaching.
The Innovation Semester will enter a second round in October 2019 – with even more projects and more participants planned.
