The renaming of the Max Planck Institute for Iron Research
Since August 27, 2024, the Max Planck Institute for Iron Research GmbH has officially had a new name: Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materials GmbH – a significant step that reflects the change in the institute’s research.
We, the Wissensregion Düsseldorf, would like to congratulate the institute on this significant milestone.
A magnet for international talent
The article in the Rheinische Post on March 28, 2023 highlights the Wissensregion Düsseldorf initiative, which aims to keep foreign students and researchers in the region.
In cooperation with well-known companies such as Henkel and the Max Planck Institute, as well as the Düsseldorf Chamber of Industry and Commerce, improved integration programs and networking opportunities are being created.
These measures are intended not only to attract talent, but also to retain it in the region in the long term, thereby consolidating education and knowledge as central pillars of local development and location marketing.
Workshop with regional management
The Düsseldorf – Mettmann district region demonstrates remarkable innovation potential in various areas of technology.
A workshop on “Promoting innovation in the region – potential in the circular economy” highlighted the need for improved cooperation between companies, universities and public administrations.
The challenges posed by EU funding programs and the administrative burden were also discussed.
