How can Düsseldorf as a knowledge location be made more attractive compared to other regions? This question is the focus of the Wissensregion Düsseldorf kick-off conference on February 13, 2017. Cooperation between business and science is to be intensified in order to drive innovation and provide students with better contacts to industry. Lord Mayor Thomas Geisel emphasizes the importance of first-class universities for the business location. At the conference, company representatives, scientists and politicians will discuss how unbureaucratic cooperation and effective knowledge and technology transfer can be organized. The aim is to make the region more visible and attractive through joint efforts.

On February 13, 2017, over 100 experts will discuss the development of Wissensregion Düsseldorf at the Haus der Universität. The aim is to improve networking and long-term planning. Topics such as student advisory services, digitalization and cooperation between business and universities will be explored in depth in eight working groups. The conference is based on the results of an online survey that determined the status quo and the expectations of the participants.
