Wissensregion Düsseldorf e.V. congratulates its board member and treasurer Gregor Berghausen on being named “Düsseldorf of the Year 2021” in the business category!

Award ceremony at K21

Yesterday evening, the Rheinische Post Mediengruppe presented the “Düsseldorfer of the Year” 2021 awards in six categories.
There was also a special prize for commitment to flood relief.
After the event, originally planned for December last year, had to be postponed due to the pandemic, it was held yesterday in the presence of almost 450 guests and in perfect weather.

Award for Gregor Berghausen

In the Economy category, the jury honored Gregor Berghausen, Managing Director of the Düsseldorf Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
During the coronavirus pandemic, he took special care of the well-being of companies and employees in the region and represented the interests of industry and trade in various committees.
For example, he coordinated the conversion of IHK services to digital, which was made necessary by the pandemic, campaigned for rapid vaccination by company doctors and worked on concepts for the safe reopening of restaurants and stores. “He was our beacon that provided guidance during the pandemic,” said Karin-Brigitte Göbel, Chairwoman of the Management Board of Stadtsparkasse Düsseldorf, in her laudatory speech.

Openness and networking as core features

The jury’s statement also said that Berghausen “cultivates a policy of open doors, an open ear and an open smile“.

The IHK Düsseldorf, of which Berghausen has been Managing Director since 2016, is a founding member of the association.
Berghausen was last re-elected as a member of the board and treasurer of Wissensregion Düsseldorf e.V. in December 2020.
