Breaking Down Barriers Together: Round Table at the Düsseldorf Immigration Office
On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, the Round Table for international students and researchers met for the first time directly at the Düsseldorf Immigration Office. The exchange between universities, administration, and the city shows that together hurdles can be overcome and new perspectives created. An important step toward a strong, international Düsseldorf region.
‘Make it in Germany’ Brings Successful Networking to the HHU Campus
On May 14, 2025, the English-language career event “Make it in Germany” took place on the campus of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (HHU): a special networking breakfast for international students and researchers, jointly organized by HHU, the Düsseldorf Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK Düsseldorf), and the Wissensregion Düsseldorf. The aim of the event was to connect international talents with regional companies and to address key questions about starting a career in Germany.

Wissensregion Düsseldorf actively promotes exchange and cooperation between science and business in order to develop innovative solutions for current challenges.
Our aim is to create synergies and facilitate the transfer of knowledge through targeted networking initiatives and transfer projects.
International
Wissensregion Düsseldorf has launched a number of important initiatives as part of its efforts to continuously improve conditions for international students and academics.
A central component of these efforts is the development of a comprehensive FAQ list on questions of immigration law, which is being compiled in close cooperation with the Düsseldorf Immigration Office.
Innovation
In 2023, the Wissensregion Düsseldorf’s “Innovation Semester” was converted into an “Innovation Course” so that participants can better integrate this modular course into their everyday lives.
This course, run by the FOM University of Applied Sciences, promoted innovative ideas and entrepreneurial skills, just like the Innovation Semester.
The final event presented a wide range of projects, such as digital travel assistants and sustainable urban development initiatives.
The positive response encouraged the Düsseldorf Economic Development Agency to plan further programs to promote innovative thinking and entrepreneurship.
